Coming Face to Face

Georgetown College, 2012

This exhibition was the culmination of a collaborative art project with refugee and immigrant students in Lexington, KY. As part of the project, recently arrived refugee and immigrant students were paired with long-term students to paint their favorite memories on a piece of canvas. These pieces were then stitched into a quilt and hung from the center of the gallery, showcasing the commonalities and differences of the students’ experiences. The exhibit also included black and white portraits of all participants, which are showcased below.
